I had the immense joy of seeing my sister and niece a few weeks ago and it was great fun to reconnect, talk and laugh. We hiked together in Joshua Tree Park, about two and half hours from Los Angeles. The landscape is beautiful and incredibly varied: wildflowers, cacti and plants appear at every turn along with huge, strange shaped boulders in the middle of this vast desert. Through a fun trick, we all managed to appear in the photo below. A wonderful trek.
